Augelite with Quartz and Jamesonite(?)A good representative Augelite specimen from Machacamarca featuring many sharp, lustrous, translucent monoclinic crystals with Quartz on matrix. Some of the Augelites are very good sized for the locality and, along with the Quartz crystals, are included with an unknown black mineral (possibly Jamesonite). The two tone effect created from the inclusions makes for an eye catching piece as a lot of the specimens from this mine are not terribly colorful.

There are a couple prismatic colorless Quartz crystal on each side of the Brookite

This piece is from a find in July of 2007 at the type locality for the species which was originally discovered along the Contacto and San Jose veins in this mine and first described by Sam Gordon and Mark Bandy

I can’t say for sure if it’s twinned
