Proustite on matrixThis specimen is from a find from the mid 1990s at the famed Uchucchacua Mine in Peru. The piece hosts a handful of notably sharp, rather lustrous, metallic silvery colored trigonal crystals of Proustite that show an electric blood red color inside when strongly backlit. The largest crystal measures 6 mm, and they look fantastic with a good light behind them. Very beautiful up close! A wonderful miniature sized of this world famous "ruby silver"

The quality is nice for this particular kind of Hematite from the area

these specimens showed up in Tucson 2018 and are some of the most colorful and certainly aesthetic Halites you'll see from any locality

The piece is doubly terminated with no damage whatsoever

but I honestly haven’t seen many of them

it's a textbook monoclinic "chisel"-shape and rarely seen from anywhere in Myanmar

but also a unique quality that one does not often see in Spinel
