Cizhou BowlThe object was excavated in China and bought from a reputable HK dealer in the early 1990's. The form is unusual for Chinese Cizhou ware though it is quite possible that the piece was intended to be exported to Japan for use as a bowl for washing in the Tea Ceremony. This bowl is covered with milky white glaze, not completely to the foot. The painting of floral designs is in dark brown slip over the glaze. The foot ring is consistent with other Hebei
