This piece was dyed in the sun, bathed in water, painted on, drawn on, and carefully sealed with wax. Sustain me is the first painting in the series and sets a foundation for the rest of the themes. I almost left it out of the series—but over time

the sun hit the water in a new way

and despite harsh seasons it blooms beautiful green leaves and bright red berries

I chose to paint the Cosmo in abstract watercolor and the marigold in watercolor on cyanotype
