Small Jarlet from Qijia Culture of the Chinese Neolithic PeriodThis is a handmade pottery jarlet from the Qijia Culture ????, a bronze age culture (2050 1700 BCE) in the upper region of Yellow River in Gansu Province, Northwest China. The little jarlet was made as a funerary object, The clay body is thin, but solidly made. Evidence on the bottom of the pot shows the pot was removed with a sharp thin object like a taunt string or whatever that was used by early potters. 6 inches in diameter and 5 inches high.
This oversize opaline or milk glass bottle is extremely well made
its short neck rises from sloping shoulders to a flat top with a small round opening
The large flowers on the cover are especially well done
a rock with a low number measuring hardness is easy to carve
from a village scene with musicians and dancers
Dimensions: 2 inches wide x 3/4 inch deep x 3 1/2 inch high
