Winter time fishing is a great producer for the area, but it also offers a good fishing during the entire year. It shows shallow reefs, islands and peninsulas that dot the whole area. The area is usually defined by Bayou DuPont on the west and Wilkerson Bayou (not canal) by Lake Hermitage (Perez) on the east. The Myrtle
and the old island now also a reef on the west side of Bay L’Ours
westward to Lake Laurier and northward to Caminada Bay and to Hackberry Bay and Mud Lake
and Lacombe areas
