The Hope Furnace outside of Athens County operated from 1854 1874, producing 15 tons of iron a day. The structure still stands today and was the inspiration for the biggest, richest, and burliest Barleywine style Ale we have ever produced. It was brewed with a ludicrous amount of local maple syrup and aged for 26 months in some of our favorite
