Chateau de Durfort Corbieres 2023The Cellier des Demoiselles was created in 1914, just before the First World War. The name is a tribute to the women of the village who, in the absence of their men, strove to preserve the wines and Terroir.

No oak is used in the vinification

but in the 21st century embarked on a career of brilliant painting and printmaking

the main purpose was to preserve the wine's natural sugars

It’s a real celebration of Chardonnay and how it can develop with careful ageing

On the palate there is immediate freshness followed by great structure and complexity of the wine

it feels like an opulent wine

The oak lends a subtle texture and structure to the fruit leaving the palate fresh so this is a bright

Both the bouquet and palate showcase creamy notes from 11 months of oak barrel fermentation

This concentrates the sweetness of the grapes
