Description

Prehnite finger cast after AnhydriteAn aesthetic miniature display specimen of this contemporary classic material featuring a predominant, single finger shaped cast of Prehnite replacing Anhydrite that is flaring out of the center of the specimen. The main finger is accompanied by a few small secondary fingers. Unfortunately, much of the specimen has a coating of a secondary clay mineral, so the luster is not top quality. The color is still good, and the piece displays very well without

and it belongs to the only group of minerals that form naturally “round” or “cylindrical” crystals

hexagonal Sapphire crystal has a mostly blue interior

The main crystals are damage free

and very attractive for a smaller Gilman specimen

very well formed

Many of the Galena crystals actually have Quartz crystals growing right through them

they were still interesting with wonderful pink and green bi-color crystals

These Calcite crystals occur in septarian nodules found in the Mancos shale formation

Very little edge wear

Several slender finger-shaped casts of Prehnite after Anhydrite in parallel growth make this an attractive large miniature / small cabinet display specimen

Specimen # BOL711B232

Keep in mind that there are no other localities producing Magnetites of this quality today
