Longan - FijianThe Fijian Longan also known as the Island Lychee this is a large spreading tree reaching upto 20m. The round fruits have a thin skin that can be green to red and in some cases almost black when they are fully ripe. The flesh is juicy and sweet, it surrounding a single large seed. Fruiting occurs sporadically throughout the year with the main crop coming as late as July August. Best suited to tropical areas as will not tolerate temps below 5 or frosts.
