Working with Resists Dye WorkshopThere are so many resist styles that have been used around the world. There are interesting ways to create texture and pattern on your fabrics. In this workshop we will experiment with most of them and talk about who uses what. Over 2 sessions (either a full day or two days) we'll layer color and pattern using wax, different flour pastes, clays, and painting with dyes and simple resists. With my patterns I find it best to design simple shapes that fit many shapes

and the wild ferns are printed in navy blue

The back ground leaves (zelcova) are printed magenta then yellow ochre

including Suji

and there will be enough indigo left in this vat to dye other items a slightly lighter shade
