X-Gal and IPTG, DropperX Gal and IPTG Solution is an economic choice for blue white screening. IPTG induces lacZ expression, the gene that codes for beta Galactosidase production. Bacteria that produce beta Galactosidase show up as blue colonies when grown on agar plates containing X Gal. Bacteria negative for beta Galactosidase remain white. X Gal and IPTG contains 40 mg mL of each reagent in a convenient dropper bottle. The solution does not contain DMF or DMSO, which
