Magnetite
Description
MagnetiteTypically, the Magnetite specimens from this locality are closely grown together, and this is a great example of said material. The piece has fine, good sized, sharp, lustrous, black, metallic, "Alpine type" octahedra (some are twinned) associated with cream colored Feldspar on matrix. Great quality for the species and the locality, and the faces on the Magnetite crystals are rather smooth and shiny. Keep in mind that there are no other localities
Specimen # BOL711B28
Several very sharp
The “cogwheel” is essentially undamaged
An impressive
whitish yellow “balls” with minor associated Quartz
It goes without saying that specimens of Phosphophyllite with crystals this size can be exceptionally pricey in some cases
The terminations on the Amazonite crystals are rare in my experience and make for a lovely color contrast
If that wasn’t enough
Considering that these crystals are from Bolivia is what makes them truly exciting
Rarely do you see specimens this size with such great crystallization as this one
but this color is simply unheard of
Please note: There is a spot in the corner of the specimen that looks like it might have a leaf preserved inside
