Saxon Seax Fittings from Staffordshire SE-1These Seax fittings were in the Staffordshire Hoard. Shown on our welded blade made for the fittings. The Seax is about 20" long. The end cap is 1 1 8" x 1 1 4", 3. 2 x 2. 9 cm and the bolster is about 1" x 7 8", 2. 5 x 2. 2 cm The pieces come either in plain bronze with no enamel or in gold plated bronze with red enamel to suggest the garnet that the seax had.
