2020, Château Beausejour Duffau-Lagarosse, SAINT-ÉMILION, 1er Grand Cru Classé 'B'Bordeaux Blend: Merlot, Cabernet Franc. The 2020 Beausjour Duffau Lagarrosse was tasted both as a sample sent to my home in the UK and then just a couple of days later at the chteau itself with new co proprietor Josphine Duffau Lagarrosse. The assemblage is almost the same as Nicolas Thienponts but with an extra component: all the Cabernet Franc in the vineyard, representing 19% of the blend. Dark purple in color, this has a perfumed, floral bouquet,

The palate is very well balanced

Nicely balanced with a powerful long finish

wafting from the glass with aromas of rich cherries

And despite the challenges of the vintage

but this has a ton of impact

Tuscan estate located in the Maremma and owned by the Albada family of Château Giscours

plus hints of sea spray and beeswax

Fluid and juicy

It's bright and quite spicy with red cherry and strawberry fruit and just a little abruptness on the finish

suggesting the need for some serious bottle age
