SchiavonaThe Schiavona is a complex hilted cut and thrust sword used by Italian mercenaries. In the age where rapiers were the standard for personal defence and duels, this was an equally elegant weapon, but far better suited to warfare. Unlike a Scottish Basket, the Schiavona's basket is built in a way to allow you to hold it completely en pointe. It also has a thumb ring, assisting with false edge and quick redirection of cuts, and the handle shape allows
