Cahors Clos La Coutale 2023Cahors has been renowned for its robust red wines since the Middle Ages, with Malbec, locally known as Ct, thriving in the regions warmer, drier summers compared to Bordeaux, producing fuller bodied wines. The Bernde family has cultivated 38 hectares at Clos La Coutale for six generations, benefiting from the Lot Valleys prime soils. Their southwest facing vineyards are shielded from the cold winds of the Massif Centrale, allowing the grapes to ripen
the grapes undergo a 10–15 day fermentation using indigenous yeasts before spending 12 months in French oak barrels
The range includes both a red and a white blend

and all harvesting conducted by hand
