The marks 18 & J are all I have to go on

Some damage to the brass ornaments at the corners
but this one is a miniature
This particular style of valentine is exceptionally rare & in remarkably good condition for its age
There is a hole drilled on the side of the base to accommodate an electrical cord
chalkware version of the Victorian parian hand vases we so adore
Still retains most of its silver plate and the glass is very clear
The subject matter is rarely this interesting
The frontispiece illustrates this story
This edition is from 1844 and is in very good condition save for a chip at the top of the spine and bumped corners
This large vanity box is covered in seafoam green velvet with a metal finial on the lid
