Description

La Caña Albariño 2025Jorge Ordez introduced the US to Albario in 1991, La Caa is his own statement of what the grape can achieve when taken seriously. Organically farmed, dry farmed old vines in Val do Salns. Fermented 65% in stainless and 35% in used barrels, aged eight months on the lees with weekly stirring. Salted peaches, white blossoms, briny and tangy on the palate, with an intensely saline finish.

Aged for five years in American oak barrels

co-owned with Moutard-Diligent

meaning the vineyards must sit in direct proximity to the Atlantic Ocean

Obsessively filtered and bottled by the Albany Distilling Company

an ancient Basque fishing village on Spain’s rugged northern coast

Americano: gentian bitterness balanced with quinine and citrus

and mineral kept clean

Rosy florals

Multilayered with hints of juniper

75% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Munier

Müller Thurgau

The ultimate wine is a blend of roughly 60% Sangiovese
