Philodendron torum is known for its unique foliage

It has a very unique petiole with colorful ruffled edges

caudex will start to "split" and new growth will swell bright green in between these "splits

They can cut stems and branches up to 1" in diameter

The lip is often larger than the rest of the flower

It is almost porous with small pathways through it's caudex

Ficus triangularis is one of our favorite upright trees for the home next to the classic Ficus elastica

Their leaves are also a little more purple-hued and splashier

but we would recommend checking for when the foliage feels soft before watering

Avoid watering directly in the center of the plant as standing foliage in the center can lead to rot
