Buffalo Pottery Ye Town Crier plate (1908)Hand painted transfer pattern dessert plate from Buffalo Potterys "Ye Town Crier" Deldare series. The plate features a man with a bell that calls all to attention as he reads breaking news while a gent and lady pay attention. Large stones pave the ground. A cottage in the background and along the rim depict village architecture. Stamped on the underside: Made at ye Buffalo Pottery, Deldare Ware, Underglaze (some lettering was lost in the transfer)

Each plate is archival float mounted and framed in a mahogany cross band veneered frame

The surfaces have been cleaned and finished with shellac

Small scaled octagonal white marble table top inlaid with cornelian

and patina commensurate with age and use

designed by Walter Heintz for Steuben in 1939

but the underside has a pair of rings in the underglaze

The edges of the jacket is trimmed with the black silk bands with pink and blue flowers
