Description

Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba 'Hurricane Creek White' - Clone H (Baldwin County, Alabama) MK-L145HThe 'Hurricane Creek' cultivar name can be applied to Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba clones, or their seeds, that were found at the Hurricane Creek site in Baldwin County, Alabama. Sadly, the natural Hurricane Creek White site was ploughed to create a pine tree plantation, destroying the Sarracenia population. A few pockets of Sarracenia leucophylla may remain, but the most spectacular clones now only exist in hobbyists collections.

This references the plant's most prominent feature

which perfectly describes the plant's dark and ominous appearance

Sarracenia × moorei 'Santa Rosa Big Mouth' from Santa Rosa County

Pitchers are tall and narrow

This bold throat patch is crisp and uncluttered

ASBO is an acronym for 'AntiSocial Behaviour Order' which I assume is the inspiration behind the name

The plant's most notable feature is its large

Strong sun brings deeper reds

Its potential for spectacular pitchers was not immediately recognised

The leaves of mature specimens bear traps that regularly exceed 5 cm in length

This gives 'La Bête' the following genetic make-up

creating a textured look
